Welcome Home, Oliver

For Oliver, just born

The Chicago wind was blowing cold, the snow was falling deep
While the city shut its heavy doors and drifted off to sleep

Record credits · what we were told

For baby Oliver, born in the middle of a snowstorm in Chicago, from his parents Mia and Sam. The hospital lost power for ten minutes right as he arrived, so his first light was the nurses' phone torches. His big sister Ruby, who is six, has already named her stuffed giraffe Oliver Junior and announced she is in charge of him. Grandpa Joe drove through the snow with a thermos of hot chocolate for everyone. We want a happy, stomping folk song to welcome him, that the whole family can sing at his welcome party.

La Nana de Martina

For Martina, just born

Llegó la lluvia de marzo en Valencia,
tres días antes marcando tus pasos.

Sung in Spanish

Record credits · what we were told
