For Maya, from Theo, on our first Valentine's Day living under the same roof. We spent our first year apart, Edinburgh and Toronto, five hours of time difference. We watched the same films on video calls, counting three, two, one, play, so we would laugh at the same moment. She keeps every boarding pass from those trips in an old shoebox under the bed. I tried to bake her grandmother's lemon drizzle cake three times before it didn't collapse. Now we share a tiny flat with a window that leaks when it rains, and she puts a mug under the drip and calls it our indoor waterfall. I want a soft, tender song that tells her the distance was worth every mile, and that home is wherever her cold feet find mine.

Para Nerea, de parte de Óscar, en nuestro sexto San Valentín. Nos conocimos discutiendo por el último cruasán de una panadería de Zaragoza: ganó ella y lo partió por la mitad. Desde entonces le dejo notas de amor en el espejo empañado del baño. Ella me enseñó a bailar bachata en la cocina, descalzos y con la radio a tope, mientras se quema la cena. Tenemos una furgoneta vieja llamada La Tortuga con la que hemos dormido junto al mar en Galicia y en Cabo de Gata. Ella dice que ronco como un tractor y me graba para enseñárselo a sus amigas. Este año le preparo, por fin, una cena sin quemar nada. Quiero que la canción sea sensual y alegre, que se pueda bailar, y que le diga que todavía me tiembla todo cuando me mira.
