For Linda, who retires after 35 years as a nurse on Ward 7 at St. Mary's, from all her colleagues. She worked more night shifts than anyone can count and always remembered every patient's name, and the names of their dogs. Her caramel shortbread is legendary: new doctors are told about it on their first day. She calmed down more scared families than any of us, with a cup of tea and a hand on the shoulder. Now she is retiring to her garden and her five grandchildren. We want a warm, uplifting song, like a big hug, to thank her at her leaving party.

Para don Ramón, el maestro de la escuela de nuestro pueblo en Asturias, que se jubila después de 42 años, de parte de sus alumnos de todas las generaciones. Enseñó a leer a medio pueblo, incluidos padres e hijos de la misma familia. Siempre llevaba tiza en la chaqueta y un pañuelo para las narices de los pequeños. Cada primavera organizaba la excursión al río para enseñarnos los nombres de los árboles. Nunca levantó la voz, pero todos le hacíamos caso. Ahora quiere cuidar su huerta y por fin aprender a tocar la gaita. Queremos un homenaje emocionante, con aire asturiano, para su fiesta de despedida.
